Not the real thingThis is not the real amlactin. It hasn t a totally different consistency and is a little oily and smells completely different. Unfortunately I ordered it in advance of running out of my other bottles and now it s too late to return it. Buyer beware.1This is not a genuine product!I bought this lotion online as a backup since my normal store sometimes doesn t have it. I just finished the bottle I bought in store and tried this one. Immediately I noticed the consistency, and then the smell hit me. Normal amlactin does smell, but it is more on the chemical ammonia side. This smelled completely sour and like it had gone bad. The color was darker than the real bottle too. I had someone else smell the bottle I got from the store vs this one and they also knew they were not the same. Do not buy!1Fake!!! Do NOT buy!I ve bought this for years. As soon as I received it I immediately knew something wasn t quite right. It smelled sour and rancid. I compared the back of the bottle to that of a store bought bottle. Completely different ingedients and a different distributor. This is a fake item.1Smells bad and didn t workMy dermatologist recommended this lotion to treat the small red bumps on the back of my arms. I used it religiously for the entire summer, once in the morning and once at night, only to have no improvement. I could have dealt with the chemical smell and greasy feel if I had seen any progression. Buy yourself lotion that smells pretty or makes your skin feel nice, Amlactin will do neither. I don t recommend this lotion.1It s grossI ve been using this for two days and have seen improvement already in my skin, especially the pesky little bumps on my arms and legs, so that s why I gave it two stars. The downside is that it smells SO strongly like ranch dressing! The bottle says it is fragrance free but there s a strong smell when you apply it and it smells exactly like ranch! It can be covered up with some perfume or cologne but everyone I have asked says it smells like a bottle of Hidden Valley dressing, so that s pretty disappointing and gross.2NOT ORIGINAL!Beware, this lotion is not original. As soon as I pumped it out I noticed that the consistency and color of it was different, and had a tacky feeling when applied to the skin. I always bought mine from Walmart but for months I couldn't get it because it was always sold out so I decided to buy this. After a bottle and 1/2 later my skin become very dry, itchy and I believe i started getting hives on from it so I stoppted using it and my skin started healing. The real Amlactin lotion has a thick consistency and off whitish color and when you apply it you skin internally feel moisturized and no after small. I wish I can get my money back but unfortunately I throw out them out because my return window was closed.1Must try for crocodile -scaley dry skinAfter years of dealing with dry skin, what we called crocodile skin, we FINALLY found a product that works.My teenage boys have dealt with flaky crocodile skin on their torsos, arms and legs for years. We were prescribed steroid creams, have tried thick creams, oatmeal baths, many lotions, none of those worked. This did!!!My 12 year old has never had smooth skin. He used to get embarrassed to wear shorts but this cleared it up. He has soft flake free skin for the first time...ever.A friend recommended this to me and I m grateful. They said he will have to use it everyday to keep his skin clear. We re fine with that.The smell isn t great so I got them Bod spray to spray on after the lotion.DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!5was this just an older batch?I have been using AmLactin for quite a while to keep my KP in check. I don't like the smell. but it works on my KP. However, this very latest batch smells different than the last one I purchased. The cream has a slightly darker color and a slightly different odor that ones I've received in the past. Otherwise it works fine.The expiration date is a year in the future, but it is sooner that the one on the last batch that I received. I feel like this has happened before with amazon purchases. I obviously received an older batch. Sometimes I think products sit around in their warehouses for a while getting old before we receive them. While this was a deal, I'll probably buy this cream from CVS in the future.3Fake??I agree with others that the bottle I received was off. Amlactin is known for its unappealing scent so I initially attributed the bad smell to the intended formulation. It smelled like sour milk to me although others descriptions of it smelling like vomit are probably better. But it was my first bottle so I didn t know what it was supposed to smell like exactly.Well, I went on a trip, didn t take it with me, and ended up buying a bottle at a local drugstore. This bottle smells way different like a cleaning product, not vomit. So I guess I got a bad bottle or a fake bottle from Amazon. Wouldn t recommend purchasing this product through Amazon for this reason.1Great for KP, makes skin super softExfoliation in the shower, then using this right after the shower and applied consistently before bed other days took care of 80% of the KP on my legs. On top of looking better, my skin feels super soft. The smell is fine to me, it's not great but inoffensive - it's faint and doesn't stick around once the lotion is absorbed.5
