Customer Reviews

Frizzy Brittle pool hair is Gone! Going to aqua exercise 3days a week has left my hair a brittle, frizzy mess. Pool chlorine was killing my hair! My hair dresser suggested using a conditioner before going into the pool, so I used my regular conditioner, and it helped a little, but my hair still was frizzy after several months of doing this. I did a little search on Amazon and found this product. I put it in my hair before going in the pool. If I have time I wet my hair first, then add the Aqua Guard, but if I'm late I just use a little extra on my hair without water. It's been great. My hair is now back to its normal bounce and texture. No more brittle feel and friz!! 5Healthy hair for swimmers! As an aqua fitness instructor, my hair is exposed to chlorine and sun every day, and I've never found anything that works as well as Aqua Guard for keeping my hair healthy. Gray hair is very porous and will absorb pool chemicals like a sponge, but Aqua Guard forms a barrier that has really protected my hair and even conditioned it. The pools I teach at don't want people to go in with other hair products in (some people were just encasing their hair in regular conditioner) because it gunks up the filtration, but after showing them Aqua Guard they were OK with using it. If you are familiar with Derma Swim, which I also recommend to my classes for chlorine-sensitive people, Aqua Guard is like Derma Swim for your hair. I recommend it to my classes and can tell who is using it because their hair is much brighter and healthier looking :) 5I experimented with using this product actually instead of using a swim cap because I just hate having the hard pressure on my hMy hair is mid-length at this point and I tend to swim for several hours a day. I experimented with using this product actually instead of using a swim cap because I just hate having the hard pressure on my head all the time. It actually made it so my hair felt smooth and soft coming out of the water and it wasn't a nightmare to comb through. Definitely recommend it.5Finally something that works! This product is just one from an arsenal I have tried on my daughter's naturally spiral curled hair, in an effort to protect her hair from pool chlorine. Aqua Guard is the first product to really deliver. We still use a shampoo and conditioner that help to remove chlorine, but they are much more effective when used together with this product. It is really great for curly hair, which is particularly vulnerable to the drying effects of pool chlorine. I dampen my daughter's hair and use a wide-toothed to ensure it is evenly distributed. It makes a BIG difference in her hair after a day in the pool. 5Great productMy girls love this product. We put it in before swimming and when shower their hair after the pool. You would never know they had been in the pool. Their hair is soft and clean. Without the product my oldest hair feels like straw and she has hair all the way down her back. It's super nice not to have to buy stripping shampoo all the time. I will buy this again and always carry it with my sunscreen.5Works well when used correctly! I am a hairstylist who swims laps five days a week for an hour at a time. Unfortunately my fine, color treated hair was becoming completely trashed from the chlorine and I had to have a major haircut. After that I decided to invest in a good swim cap as well as give this product a try. It seems to work really well for me. I wet my hair down first and towel dry it, apply the product, put the swim cap on and let it absorb in for five minutes before I submerge my head in the chlorinated water. The directions say you can put it on dry hair as well but as a professional stylist I would never recommend that. Always wet your hair before you get into the pool, whether or not you have any product in to help protect it.Because of the headphones I wear with the swim cap some of the chlorine still leaks through into the cap. With this product in my hair it has been two months and there s not a bit of chlorine damage. If you re not sure about purchasing the product, call the company and they will send you a complementary sample size tube to try. Great company to deal with! I would definitely recommend this product if you re having problems with your hair in chlorinated pools. I would also recommend purchasing directly from the company if you decide you want to keep using it. It may take a few days longer to get here than using prime membership but it s $1 cheaper per tube. 5My girls have fine, thick hair and swimming two to three days ...My girls have fine, thick hair and swimming two to three days a week has caused massive tangles. I've contemplated letting it just become the dreadlocks it apparently wants to be.This has been a sanity saver. No more screaming and gnashing of teeth to get the tangles out AFTER using expensive swimming shampoo and oodles of conditioner. We put it in before getting in the pool, come out and shower and no more nappy hair or masses of knots! Yay!5Noticeable Difference Love it! My daughter's club changed their chemical distributor and immediately swimsuits started bleaching out, swimmers had dry skin, and their hair was like a brittle broom. I tried several post swim products, but this was the first pre-swim product we've tried and it works great. It took about three applications for her hair to be more like it was pre chemical change. Had I of been using this all along she wouldn't have any chemical damage.I French braid her hair dry, then put AquaGuard over the braid; focusing on the edges and end of braid. 5Best product for your hair! Best product for people constantly in the pool. You put it on your dry hair, or wet hair and it doesn't let the chlorine latch on. I would never go swimming without it. For some understanding I am in the pool 3-5 times per week swimming laps, not to mention aqua fit classes. This product is a lifesaver! 5Keeps gold from turning to straw! I'm a believer. My daughters have thick, curly hair that takes about 10 minutes to condition and wet-comb daily. Chlorine is kryptonite; their hair becomes frizzy polyester if they swim, rinse, and air dry. This AquaGuard Pre-Swim conditioner is amazing. We work it into wet hair, put the hair in a braid or ponytail, and swim. After swimming, the kids rinse off and comb their hair again. The next morning is the test--no polyester! In fact, the hair looks, smells and behaves as if it had been freshly washed and conditioned before bed. So very worth it!!! 5I had high hopes for this product because I spend ... I had high hopes for this product because I spend 5-6 hours a week in the pool and my colour-treated hair fades very badly between trips to the salon. I started using the product almost immediately after my last colour treatment. It's been about 5 weeks since I started using it and I only see a marginal difference (any?) in terms of fading. I'll ask my stylist for her opinion when I see her next week. Many people have complained about the smell (fake cherries). I don't find it that off-putting. I used a generous amount of the product, as instructed too and am almost out. I'm not sure if I'll buy it again. 3Great sealer! I am black Great sealer! I am black, thus can vouch that it would on course hair. Will keep hair soft and smelling great. I was stopped on the beach and asked what made my hair smell so good. That product reminds me of a good conditioner. Would purchase again. 5Best pre-swim treatment we've found. Swim team momma, so I have used many swimmers' hair products. This is by far the best pre-swim hair protection I've used. It is very rich and thick, so it really seems to stay on well. In fact, the only time my kid can swim without a cap is if she has used this product. Otherwise, her hair becomes a giant dreadlock. With this, her hair feels silky as soon as she hits the shower, before she even washes the pool chemicals out. It's not perfect, of course. It's really expensive because It takes quite a lot to adequately protect the hair. It also has an sickeningly sweet cherry Kool-aid type of smell, but that wears off quickly and isn't detectable within a few minutes, though a couple of caps were cherry scented by the end of a season. 5
