Decent starter kit but it won't replace any of my current grooming essentials I've only used the kit for a couple of days now but here's the short of it. It is a decent beginner kit. The brush isn't all that great as a few others have said. Mine showed up with one empty hole where bristles should have been and bristles falling out. That said the firmness is good and I like the contoured shape. The comb is good not as good as many of the reviews have said in my opinion but still good works fine especially on my mustache. The teeth of the comb do seem to bend easily though which for only two days use and being made of wood seems odd. The entire set also smelled very strongly of citronella. I'm not sure if this is used to help protect the natural materials in storage or if this is just a fluke maybe the product is manufactured in a facility that also makes tiki torches or something. All in all as I said ok kit for beginners and it's an easy purchase. I've bought better brushes for less locally. If you're a beginner for the price go for it or if you just want a simple travel kit and don't want to lose any of your good stuff also a good purchase. If you're looking for a good brush and comb for daily use shop around some more.*Edit* The seller did reach out to me and express that some of my issues with the product are not what they would consider to be exemplary of their product. I can concede that the missing bristles are I'm sure from a manufacturing error and perhaps even the strange smell could be a fluke. They did offer me a replacement to show that what I received is not to their standards. I declined a replacement because I believe I was relatively fair in my review though I will add a star due to the fact that if someone else has a problem I do believe it would be rectified fairly quickly and that piece of mind is worth something when purchasing something you can't feel or really see in person until it arrives. As I said I do stick by my critical comments about what I received but should they offer other products in the future I wouldn't hesitate to at least try them knowing the seller does care about the satisfaction of their customer base. 4Great comb and brush for the average beard Review from my son:This kit is great! The brush does a great job managing the tangled mess that is my beard, does an especially good job in the side-cheek area that can get a little crazy. The comb smells really good, I don't know what it is made of but my dog is always trying to lick it. It does a good job combing out your beard if it is long enough. I can really "blow out" my beard if I comb it forward but overall it does its job. It's a little thick so I don't throw it in my pocket and take it with me, but it is easy enough to bring with in my travel toiletry kit.I think for the price you can't beat this little package. 5So far totally incredible!!! Will rate again in 1 month - UPDATED and LOVING IT Brand new user to "Beard Grooming." As an American Black male, facial hair has ALWAYS been a mortal enemy; ingrown hairs, unsightly bumps and just the entire untidy look of my course hair, well lets just say I was never interested in wanting to deal with the upkeep of facial hair; let alone a beard!So, fast forward 20 years and over trying a multitude of products and listening to the "old dudes" in the barbershops and such I began to let my facial hair grow and started trying a combination of washing and grooming techniques until I finally happened upon some that works for "MY" face:-) But still, there was the issue of untidy looking hair and frankly hair that just was just not very soft or manageable:-(I did some researching and decided to give Repsol a try. I just opened up my box and immediately tried the comb (without applying any kind of beard balm). Instantly I noticed this small unassuming little comb glided right thru what is normally a tangled mess. And that was using EITHER side; coarse or fine. Amazed and in denial, I tried several more times, it was almost like I couldn't get the comb to get tangled or catch and get caught up in any curly squiggly hair. AMAZING!!!So, on to the brush, although stiff feeling to my hand, it actually has a very soft soothing feel to my face/beard!!! If this is any indicator as to how easy and manageable this will make my beard - I'M TOTALLY SOLD.Then I proceeded on to my normal routine of washing my face (warm to hot water), patting it dry and the final rinse with cold water. I put a nickel size of Creamo beard cream into the palm of my hand, spread it across my beard, worked it in, ran the comb thru it and honestly thought I had somehow missed my beard!!! I barely felt the comb gliding thru it - If I had not of been seeing it in the mirror I would have honestly thought I completely missed my beard. The hair was indeed straightening out. I then followed up with a few strokes from the brush and what was once nappy and untidy was slowly turning into a well groomed looking beard.It's only been the first day (hell, first few minutes!!!) I'll come back in a month or so with an update, but first impressions: I'm sold!!!I'm only giving it 4 stars to give it and me time to prove beyond a doubt that this comb/brush combo are really THIS GOOD. If it is, you can bet I'll be upgrading to 5 stars.***UPDATE**** 1 Dec 2016Here I am two weeks into using this comb/brush. This comb is AWESOME. I even use it to comb my head now too:-) It just glides so smoothly thru my hair,....it just seems to magically make the tangles act right:-) lol Not sure how else to explain it. And brushing my beard has made it feel MUCH smoother and softer!! Thanks Repsol - you got a LIFETIME customer here!! 5Bristles fall off continuously, cheaply made brush and comb in very nice packaging...do not recommend I'm very surprised by the great reviews for this brush and comb. On my first use I noticed brush bristles falling off, ok I figured maybe it's just because it's new and there were a few loose bristles. I've been using this for about a month now and every time I use it more bristles fall off. It's a cheap product in good packaging, 2/5 stars is generous for the price compared to better products. I will be purchasing a nicer product and do not recommend this one...Update: Seller reached out to me to try to resolve my concern. While I still remain dissatisfied with the product, the company definitely cares about customer service, due to this I'm adding another star...thank you Rapid Beard 3Perfect beard set! I bought this set for my husband. It comes packaged quite nicely in a sturdy gift box with a canvas bag. The comb is beautifully made as well as the brush, and when my husband first tried the brush he loved that it was contoured. It makes brushing his not very long beard even easier. He travels with this set and just puts both items in the canvas bag into his dopp bag. I doubt I'll need to repurchase another beard set because I think this has the potential to last a lifetime, but if I do, I'd buy this exact set again. 5Brush that Maximizes its Use Awesome brush, I have had it for quite some time now and have seen it work wonders on my beard. Before my beard use to be wild and wasn't very uniform. But after using the brush daily it has shaped my beard well and it now maintains a much more uniform appearance. I love the fact that it is has a curve to the shape of the bristles and I can feel it maximizing it's surface area to really brush as much hair possible. It has a really nice quality and it still looks the same as when I purchased it. Now I always have it lying around near me just to get my beard nice a kept right before work or an outing without having to worry about my beard looking too wild. 5Great product, great price, absolutely happy. I received my kit a day faster than what I expected, so right off the bat I'm happy. Then I pull my Box out of the packaging, and immediately I am impressed with the simple yet solid look of the box. I really like the rough, old fashioned of the bag carrier for the brush and comb. The comb looks absolutely great, it certainly looks like it was handcrafted, and he wood has a nice finish. Besides looking great, the comb feels really nice on my mustache, I've even used for my hair and it still works great for that. The brush has just as good craftsmanship. It has a simple design, but the bore hair is really nice. The bristles are pliable, yet firm enough to hold up. The feel is really good, it's really nice on my face. Overall this is a great product, I have yet to find anything that I don't like about it, and more than that the price can't be beat. 5The boar's bristle brush is wonderful. The contoured shape of the brush and the ... I'm a little surprised. I've never left an Amazon review before, but I will for this one. I own several store-bought beard brushes and combs, but they were all lacking. The brushes were so stiff as to cause irritation to the skin beneath the hair, and the combs were made of molded plastic; for those that know their combs, you know this causes imperfection in each tooth, causing it to grab and pull on whiskers. I never knew what a difference high-quality products could make, but the difference in the comfort and look of my beard is tremendous. I have thick, bristly whiskers, which cause a lot of irritation when tangled. The whiskers are also wild and tend to stray. The comb is saw-cut sandalwood, with a wide-tooth side and a fine-tooth side, and flows seamlessly and effortlessly through even the most tangled beard. The sandalwood aroma is also distinct and pleasant. The boar's bristle brush is wonderful. The contoured shape of the brush and the differing stiffness of each bristle creates a very balanced experience; enough resistance to get through your beard and tame unruly hairs, but soft enough for repeated brushing and no irritation. I'm sitting here for the first time in months with no itch or discomfort in my beard. No oil, no beard balm, no conditioner. Highly recommend. 5Great kit for the price! High quality for the price. The comb has both a coarse and a fine side which comes in handy. The boar hair brush does well to tame some of the more unruly areas of my beard. The comb has a nice sandalwood scent, which is a great touch.My only complaint would be that the brush seems to have some bristles falling out, though that may be perfectly normal. It seems to be decreasing as I use it, and the bunches don't seem to be reducing in size to any noticeable extent.All in all, I would give it 4.5 stars if that was an option. I'm rounding it up to 5, giving the benefit of the doubt on the brush. 5High quality for not too high a price Bought this for my bf who's been growing his beard each winter. He kept using my brushes, so I thought it was time he had his own. The comb especially is really nice -- a smooth, thick, solid-feeling styling tool -- and the brush has the perfect amount of play in the bristles (not too flexible but not too grabby either). Would make a really lovely gift set with a tin of nice beard balm. 5
