    somewhat greasy but works ok Always loved this brand, so decided to give the zinc based spf 30 day cream a shot after I couldn't find any decent day cream with a spf that high. I have fair skin and live in sunny Miami, so I really need to use good protection on a daily basis. The lotion works, but it's pretty sticky and leaves a somewhat greasy feel to your skin, even hours after applying. I've tried many other zinc based face creams before in hope of finding the perfect one, this isn't it. But it gets the job done for now. 3Texture/feel on skin is unpleasant I bought this because I love their night firming cream of the same line, which I use every night. I especially love the scent and thought I would like this too. I did not. The apple-hibiscus scent is still nice. However, the feel of the cream is unpleasant, even on your hands when applying. Kinda greasy or like a thin wax, it doesn't spread well... and it is shiny looking. Maybe if you have super dry skin this would feel good, but I doubt it. I washed it off and threw the rest away. Its a shame, most Burt's Bees is good stuff. 2Smells bad- breaking my skin out. I cannot stand the smell of this, for a face cream that's like all up in your FACE that's not great. On top of that I've started breaking out after using it. The smell is like a dead flower and puke. It's a harsh comment. I love Burt's bees SO much but this was NOT anywhere near the quality of their products 1Not their best product... I religiously use Burt's Bees face wash and body wash and other body lotions, but I HATED this face lotion. The sunscreen component is super thick, and has a very strong sunscreen smell. It doesn't blend into my skin very well, and it makes my face look incredibly shiny. 2I've always had good luck with Burt's Bees even compared to more expensive ... Background:I have sensitive combination skin and I live in a desert climate that's very dry and hot. SPF is extremely important to me in the spring and summer months but I have to be very careful of which skin care items I use as most SPF lotions cause me to break out. I've always had good luck with Burt's Bees even compared to more expensive brands like Shiseido, Estee Lauder, and Lancome.Pros:- Great packaging. I love the pump and only need 1 - 2 pumps per day.- It doesn't break me out- Very reasonable price- SPF 30 means it blocks 97% of UVB rays which is great for every day use. Higher SPFs like SPF 75 or 100 don't offer significantly more protection so SPF 30 was exactly what I wanted.Cons:- Pungent smell. Luckily, our noses function so that we stop smelling it after a while so I still use it. Nonetheless, It's extremely unpleasant when I first put it on. It smells as if hibiscus and apples got dunked in a toxic chemical lab. I believe part of why it's so strong smelling is to mask the smell of sunscreen but honestly, I prefer the smell of sunscreen to this. Whether or not you like/tolerate/hate the smell will vary from person to person of course. My boyfriend thinks it smells pleasant.- It leaves a very sticky residue on my fingers but it doesn't feel bad on my face. This issue is easily resolved by washing my hands right after application. As a quick reminder, you always want to put this on 10-15 minutes BEFORE you go outside or before you put your make up on.Recommendation: I would recommend this to anyone wanting a little extra protection for their skin.EDIT: I removed one star from my original review because one of my favorite aspects of this lotion, the pump, gets defective once you're about 2/3 of the way done with this llotion. It bothers me enough that, along with the product's other cons, I will not be repurchasing. 3Not a fan I am a fan of Burt s Bees products but this one missed the mark for me. I wanted a light day moisturizer with SPF. This one seemed to check all the boxes but when I tried it, I was just not a fan. It was thick and the smell is not very pleasant. It turned my skin white and did not blend or even out after absorbing. It left my skin feeling sticky and greasy the rest of the day. I ll have to use as a night cream to use it up, which defeats the purpose of the SPF. I haven t tried it long enough to comment on the firming technology but considering everything else, I m doubtful about that as well. 2Burt s Bees Moisturizer I had recently bought some Burr s Bees toothpaste that I loved. I was looking for a new moisturizer and decided I would try theirs. I read reviews and did have some initial concerns about the scent. I am sensitive to smells, especially any floral scents, plus I have sensitive skin. I decided to risk it.The pictures attached are after a week of use. The smell was not an issue for me. I didn t think it had a strong scent, at all. Unfortunately, for my sensitive skin, this did not work. At first I noticed breaking out around my lips and just brushed it off to being chapped. And then I started having further breakouts around my mouth. A day later my hives showed up. I haven t used it in three days and my rash is starting to look better but it s still not gone.Of course, just because my sensitive skin couldn t handle it doesn t mean yours won t. For the moisturizer, it was light, but it didn t help with my dry skin around my mouth and chin, which is why I think I m broke out in that area so badly. The dry skin flakes so I tried to make sure I was thoroughly moisturized. 3Excellent! Skin thankful for this product Tried many facial products out there, including Obagi and Oil of Olay. My needs are sensitive, light skin. Retionol products are very irritating to me. This facial lotion, is great! Skin already evened out, slight glow undertone, feels soft. Only issue is the odor. Very strong. Does not always sit right in my stomach after application, slightly overpowering. I assume, will get better, more i use it. Two pumps are all i need to cover face, and decolletage. Also use the Radiance eye cream, and the cotton night cream. All excellent products that noticeably work without the designer price tag and without having to go to the dermatologists office to buy it. 5Broke out my skin I read the reviews before I tried this and a lot of people seem to complain about the smell. I don't think the smell is bad at all. It's very light and the scent goes away in minutes. Another thing I was worried about before I tried it was the white "sheen" people said their face had after using it. Again, I don't think that's an issue. If you use too much, I think it's likely, but you only need a little bit. One pump is twice as much as you should need to cover your face. The only reason I have to give this cream two stars is that it broke out my skin. I really wanted to like it. The glass bottle is so nice - no worries about plastic leaching into your product. But, I just can't use it. If you break out from chemical sunscreens, you probably will from this as well. I'm going to try another Burt's Bees moisturizer without SPF and a separate zinc sunscreen under it. 2Enjoyed! Be careful if you have oily skin I enjoy burt's bees products and had wanted to try a daily moisturizer with sunscreen so I ordered this one. It does the trick for me; I have dry/normal skin and am not usually prone to acne other than the occasional hormonal breakout. I did notice that this product is quite heavily fragranced so I would be wary of that if it's something that might bother you. When you first apply this product it does leave a greasy layer for a few minutes (for me it always goes away after a few minutes while it dries down) but I'm not sure if this would be ideal for someone with oily skin. Overall I really like this product and would recommend. 5
