The tweezers are fantastic, the rest of the tools not so much Only in the world of internet reviews can I state without too much shame that I lost my favorite comedone extractor and set about hunting for a new one. As a 43 year old with combination skin and acne, I have a full face routine I do at home to save me money and combat my skin disasters the best I can. A big part of this routine is described below, but one of the most important tools is the extractor.I was intrigued by the blackhead tweezers, which you use by applying pressure to the comedone and pulling up with the tweezer end. The comedone loop on the other end didn't work at all. I would highly recommend the tweezers, I just wouldn't by a kit with other tools that don't work well. You can buy this tweezer design as a separate item, and this is what I would do next time.Here's how I use the blackhead tweezers extractor in my facial routine:-Wash face - I like to use my Clarisonic brush with an AHA/BHA cleanser from Skin Medica. There are definitely other options that are cheaper, and when I am out of this stuff, I just use Cetaphil cleanser instead.-Steam my face with a steamer or use a warm washcloth to open pores for 3-4 minutes.-Gently use extractor to clear problem comedones - I can simply put pressure on the comedone with the tweezers and then pull out the sebum plug (gross, gross and gross, but strangely satisfying to clean up my face)-Apply retinol or serum of choice-MoisturizeI do this at night, and as bad as my skin can be, this is an important tool in my arsenal! 3Extremely disappointed Received this product an hour ago and I am very unhappy with it already. First of all it came in a beat up box (not the amazon box, the product box) that was already opened. This already gave me a bad feeling and as soon as I open the case all the tools were ready to fall out. The part that is supposed to hold onto the tools is EXTREMELY loose which defeats the whole purpose of having it. I ordered this item specifically for the case with the tools but it has let me down. The tools themselves aren t really the issues they seem okay and small but I m upset with everything else. Stay away if you intend on using the case with the tools 1you are supposed to use a warm rag or shower and then at least use tools like the pros Our tweens were starting to pick at acne- and squeezing causes so much skin damage. Everywhere I've read says NOT to squeeze, but I saw that IF you *must* do it, you are supposed to use a warm rag or shower and then at least use tools like the pros. I got this set of tools mostly to cut down on scarring, but I think it also prevents a lot of the redness and irritation. My husband tried it and thought it was awesome. We've already used it for a little white head that one of our kids had in a hard to squeeze place on an ear. Win! With firewood around, I figure this will be easier to let someone use on a splinter (vs. letting a kid use my best tweezers). 4pointy but easily deformed The ends are very pointy and effortlessly pokes into the skin. However, the metal at the ends of tweezers is too slim and thin that they deform so easily and makes the tweezer un-aligned, basically useless. Whenever I try to lightly push down with the tweezer ends they deform, and whenever I try to clean them, I bend the ends a little even when I was being extra careful. It is very annoying and takes a lot of patience to rebend and make them align after basically every time I touch them. The pointy one with the hoop is fine though. The case is also very poorly built and has a huge gap even when closed. Would not repurchase. 2The tweezers work surprisingly well ... The blackhead tool is less useful ... The tweezers work surprisingly well: I didn't think the curved ends would grip and pull out tiny ingrown hairs but they do. I don't know the purpose of the ends being curved, however, instead of straight. The blackhead tool is less useful: I thought the pointed end would make removing milia ("small, hard, pale keratinous nodules" just under the skin) and whiteheads (which are closed comedones as opposed to the open comedones of blackheads) easier by pricking the outermost layer of skin but the hole made is too small for them to emerge. (You need a lance for nicking the skin like the one Dr. Pimple Popper uses in her YouTube videos.) The looped end doesn't work so well in squeezing out blackheads and easily damages the skin. 3They work, but are way too delicate They work, and do what they are advertised to do. But they are very delicate and will absolutely bend even if dropped on carpet. I didn't actually believe the previous reviews that said this, but it's true. They will not hold up to any kind of rough use what so ever. For the price, I suppose it can't be expected they would be medical grade though. 3but I really like the other extractor This worked well- I don't use the tweezers often, but I really like the other extractor. The pointed tip was really nice for piercing whiteheads and blisters to make them easier to drain and reduce injury to the skin. However, after a few months of use, the tip got banged up and curved and I can't use it for that anymore. Oh well! 4LOVED the 1st tweezers but I dropped them & bend ... This is the 2nd pair that I ordered. LOVED the 1st tweezers but I dropped them & bend the ends. Loved so much I ordered another set. The tweezers on these are definitely not as good as the first. There is too much space at the tweezer end to grasp anything, which is totally frustrating and defeats the purpose of the product. I'm not sure how to contact the seller directly but hoping they will read this review. I will be more than happy to revise my review if some sort of amends are made, which would be send a new items. Thx! 2Highly reccommend! Easy to use! This set is amazing! I have and have used about every form of tweezer that is on the market but these WORK. Easily gets blackheads and white heads out without digging into your skin and causing a slew of other problems / marks in the process! And they work wonders at removing splinters too! What would normally be an all night event removing splinters from my husbands hands took just minutes because they grasped the splinter the first time every time! No digging required! I will be purchasing another set for him to keep at work for Christmas and will probably grab a few for stocking stuffers! 5Great, easy to use product. I was very skeptical of this product. However, I am pleased to say that I had no need to be skeptical. With a family of teenagers, who unfortunately are bothered from time to time with acne, this blackhead and splinter remover works as described. It is easy to use and eliminates redness and scarring. The tweezers also work great for grabbing small items, like slivers or splinters. They are great and easy to use. 5
