Great lighting, compact PERFECT -- exactly what I was looking for, for when I'm traveling. The LED lights are perfect brightness, and the 10x mirror really helps to see everything on your face. Really helps those doing eye makeup. I love that it's compact and easy to work with. If you're wondering how or where to put the batteries, it's the bottom panel. You turn the lid, so don't try and stick a sharp object in the tiny slot to open it because you'll break it that way. 5Waste of money I immediately sent this item back, and I never return anything. The regular mirror would be a nice little lighted compact mirror, but the 10X mirror is a joke! It's so small, and so magnified, that you must close one eye to only see a tiny part of your face. Not even one whole eyebrow! And then the image is blurry. Using this would be like shaping your brows looking in a chrome car bumper! I don't understand the good reviews for this useless thing. UPDATE! I received a nice email from this company after I returned the mirror. I give them props for good customer service! 1Like working by candlelight... Way too many years spent leaning over vanity to use bathroom mirror, with anemic wall lighting, trying to not only see but address age-related 'surprises' (how depressing). The lighting on this mirror is too dim to be useful so prop it on sofa arm under a crafting lamp. (Also tried sitting near sunny window but light is too diffused.) While the 1X is an improvement over previous bathroom scenario, some contortions are needed while angling to find the problems using the auxiliary light source. The 10X is mostly worthless. To achieve focus, face needs to be 1" from the mirror (I measured), which is totally impractical. How is one supposed to be able to position hand, manipulate a tweezers, etc in such limited space? Ultimately, this is just a couple of small, marginally-useful mirrors in a somewhat-cumbersome case. Disappointed. 2Where Has This Been All My Life?!?!? I have owned at least 50 lighted. magnifying travel mirrors. I will never even consider another. Top mirror is the 10x, lower mirror is regular. The lower mirror slides upward to allow the top mirror to sit on a table at pretty much standard height. The illumination is good. The case is so sturdy ... I have had many similar travel mirrors break when stuffed into an overpacked bag ... pretty sure that will never happen to this one. Only two thing to note that might be a problem for some. One, it is surprisingly heavy. I would not want this in my purse all the time. Secondly, it is possible to light the lower mirror alone, or to light both mirrors together; however, it is not possible to light just the top (magnifying) mirror alone which is the only one I really use. I cannot imagine anyone regretting this purchase. it's awesome. 5Perfect! You won't want to leave home without it; but be sure to bring it back home, since you'll need it at home to! This mirror is just what I have been looking for; in fact, I just ordered another one for a gift and may order more. The mirror is sized perfectly for every day use and for travel, since it folds flat to a thickness of a little less than 1.25 inches and has a diameter of less than 5 inches (including the hinged portion. Both mirrors are high quality. When unfolded, the lighted portion (1X, on bottom), is perfect for makeup application and illuminates the top portion of the mirror (10X portion) perfectly for illuminating the eyebrows for plucking without blinding you. I like the fact that this mirror uses four "AAA" batteries (included) because they are more readily available than button batteries. 5Exactly what I wanted for my vanity/travel. This mirror exceeded my expectations. Perfect for traveling or everyday use. It is sturdy and provides ample lighting. 5Just what I needed. Perfect for travel! I ordered this to have for trips because one never knows if the hotel will have a makeup mirror and/or how well lit/magnifying it will be. I don't need a magnifying mirror to apply makeup, but rely on it for daily eyebrow grooming (my eyebrows grow fast and thick--can't overlook them for a more than a day). The mirror is small and does have to be just a few inches from your face to be clear so I can see that posing a problem for folks who are using it for makeup application. The LED is very bright and the mirror is clear as long as you hold it close enough. I'm happy with the purchase. FYI: It does not come with batteries, so plan on buying 3 AAAs before use. 5I had this mirror for about 5 years and used ... I had this mirror for about 5 years and used it when I traveled. Unfortunately when I was packing for a trip a few weeks ago I dropped it and the mirror shattered. I immediately went online to order the same mirror. When I opened Amazon and put in "lighted travel mirror" many new options popped up. I didn't even consider them - I ordered the tried and true one that I previously had. This works perfectly for me. 5Yes, you should buy this! It's awesome. Light weight and surprisingly bright. I was looking at another brand that was 2x as expensive and I was so happy I found this one. It's great not only for traveling but to have on hand when tweezing or your makeup on the go. It is difficult to open at first but within five minutes I had figured out the batteries and could consistently open and close it. Honestly would buy more in a heartbeat. 5Mirror is great for tweezing I love this mirror except for the color of the LEDs used. They are blue! Not good for applying makeup if you are using colors. Maybe for foundation only. Works fine for tweezing. I love the size and the mirrors, which are distortion-free. 4
