It worked great for 6 months!! Stopped working!!!I am very sad and disappointed about this product. It was working great for 6 months, then it stopped working, I am trying to find out how to fix it, it doesn't turn on after charging. it doesn't show upmanything now.. and I am angry and very frustrated to spend $200 for this and the filters for only 6 months..1Exfoliating is the #1 most to get the best results!Update:I was pleasantly surprised when I recieved an email from the company offering to give me a smaller piece to resolve the issue of not being able to get to those hard to reach areas. That is great customer service and impressive! Also I will say that I've noticed the more I use the device the more results I get. I literally see the dead skin coming off as I'm using it. To get the absolute best results when you notice this stop and use the bristle brush that's included to brush off all the gunk or even switch to the 2nd included piece to ensure best results. Last I haven't had an issue again w the manual mode so that's even better. I highly recommend this device and as I said previously this was the device that was recommended most when I was searching for a great device.The reason I gave it a 3 is due to the manual setting not working all the time and that it doesn't work well on all of my nose but I do like this product.When I first tried it the manual setting didn't work only the auto setting worked. The next time I tried it on manual setting it worked. So that is definitely a major downfall for an expensive product.As for how well it works...I'm not one to just use once or twice and judge it especially when using something I'm not an expert on. So with that being said the first time I used it I didn't exfoliate well first so it did seem to give ok results. I love exfoliants a lot and believe it or not the best DIY exfoliant to use for good extraction is simply baking soda and charcoal powder mix(I use a vitamin C cleanser or just a little water to make a paste). Now that I use that after cleaning my face w my Mia device I do get good results. Would I say its worth $199 well given that the settings don't work always I'm on the fence w yes or no and the fact I can never get good suction on the bridge of my nose which is definitely a must do spot for extracting. So I'm not sure if that's a suction issue or if that part of your nose is just really hard to do. I do like how portable it is and I don't feel like it is a big process so it's more encouraging to use that's for sure.It will give you good results without harsh results as long as you watch videos and take your time it's not going to scratch your skin up and of course you're going to be very red after but I love it cuz I know I've done a good job. Most important you must finish w a good skin care regimen especially since you've gotten the dead skin, clogged pores clean and now your product is able to get down in there much better. Following the instructions it was plugged in for 3 hours. The unit never charged and no indicator ever appeared to show it was charging. This was a complete waste of $200!10/12/18 Update to previous review- I was contacted shortly after publishing my previous review and within days received a replacement. Tried it out right away with no issues and was happy with my results. I tried this in auto mode and the setting was at 3. Next time I ll try manual and use a lower setting. Didn t have any bruising but the neck area was red. By morning all redness was gone and my face feels great! I ve had microdermabrasion done in a salon and feel this is very comparable and a lot less expensive!5Visually I feel like I got more bang for my buck with the ... I am returning this item because I believe it was used. Prior to opening it, the stickers on the side were torn and there were some scratches on the actual handheld device. For the price I paid I don't want a mysterious looking product. I was going to repurchase it but instead I did a little more research and decided to purchase a Kendall for about the same price and wow big difference. Visually I feel like I got more bang for my buck with the Kendall. I didn't actually use the microderm glo but I did turn it on and the suction is definitely stronger on the kendall. I think the microderm glo would be okay if it wasn't priced almost the same as some of the more professional type microdermabrasion machines. 1Did Nothing I have used this once or twice a week for the past 4 months. It did nothing for my skin. Did not lighten even the lightest brown spot, nor did it do anything for wrinkles. The only thing it did was give me 3 broken blood vessels and a streak of hypopigmentation. A waste of money. 1I waited four weeks to review this because it was a bigger purchase for me.To say that I like this product would be fair, I am amazed by it! I take very good care of my skin now. In the 80s and 90 s that wasn t the case. I use RetinA during the less sunny months Incase of any accidental sun exposure. I usually see some of my skin sluf off but very minimal. I used sunless tanning lotion every day of my face and head, I wouldn t want to look like a horror movie villain. Every single time I use the device I clean it as suggested. When I clean it, my powdery beige stained skin is heaped around the filter. I can actually see my skin that has been removed. That is absolutely amazing! I waited a full month before doing this review as to make sure that it kept working as promised, it has! My one complaint it sometimes my hand hits the button and it pauses while trying to use it. I wish there was a lock feature. But I m adult, I can turn it back on, no big deal. My face feels like I had a really good pedicure and can breath the next day. Everyone at my salon thinks that I started using a new makeup. That dewy shine is my fresh skin, under my self tanner of course.5Only worked for about two months. It was designed in the USA from an American company with English instructions. I also believe it was created by a team of dermatologists but not sure where I read that. It really amazes me how many people are willing to buy foreign products that don't even have English instructions just to save some money and risk cutting their face or worse.I've shared some photos of this cool product hoping it will help some people since it was very, very, very difficult for me to spend over $200 on something I haven't tried or seen live. I think Nordstrom's had this on a big display for Christmas but I didn't pay attention at that time.This dermabrasion kit has everything you need for professional microdermabrasion treatments at home. Whatever machine you decide to purchase, make sure it is FDA approved and safe. Your skin will thank you!5Instructions with each use. GLO is a better way to go!No amount of face wash or product I was putting on my face was working. High end : low end. It didn't matter. My dry, flaky, dull skin was now making it impossible to use make-up. I decided to try at home microdermabrasion. I had a lower end device before purchasing the GLO system. Unfortunately I was too aggressive with my less expensive system because it wasn't doing the job. I temporarily damaged my skin. Glo is a better product but it made the difference for me for two reasons: First, GLO provides and LED display of a face with arrows on it that shows me the right way to use the the device one area at a time. Secondly it automatically times out to prevent overuse ( very important ) on each area of my face. For me, I found by following the instructions and relying on the timer that is built into this products LED display, I can get maximum results without damaging my skin. It has 3 suction settings. Even with my crazy flaky skin I am still using the lowest setting. Glo lifts the dry skin on my face sort of like a snow drift which I wash away with water and wipe gently with a cloth. I use one filter for each session and would recommend ordering a bag of 100 filters when you buy GLO. The suction pulls the clog in my pores to the surface of my skin for easier extraction with a tool. So, I follow the great instruction built right into the device and follow up with a really good serum and moisturizer. A good serum and cream is a must in my experience. After the very first use my face was pretty silky feeling! I have used this system twice a week with an occasional touch up around my problem area (which is my nose) and my skin is cleaner, smoother feeling, smoother looking and definitely allowing my serum and moisturizer to do a better job. This is a must have item for me now. I just purchased a higher end serum and moisturizer because these products can actually do their job now! A little goes a long way now that I'm using GLO.5I have to admit: Magic Wand for My Skin!I'm 40 years old, with fair skin, and a medical doctor = starting to see age show on my skin (not too bad, but it's there), fair = somewhat more sensitive skin (to sun etc), and I do have professional knowledge of how the skin works, and what works for the skin.Due to it being somewhat pricey, I hesitated before buying, however I did, and stuck with this one compared to cheaper alternatives after doing some research.And I'm actually IMPRESSED. It's really turing back years, in a week. I'm still working on enlarged pores on the T-zone, but nothing - having tried masks, scrubs, exfoliation and hydroxy-acids, has ever been as effective as this.I highly recommend it.
