Customer Reviews

Gets fine hairs! Eco-friendly! Save $$! A full leg wax at my local spa would have been around $80 (not including tip). Two of these kits were only $26. I saved at least $50! Product is great! It was my first time using and I recommend getting 2 jars and at least 24 body strips if you're waxing both your lower legs and upper thighs in one sitting. I was surprised to see it picked up the fine hairs that I can't see well on my skin! I love that you can reuse the strips too which save money and waste. All I did to clean them was place all together in a large bowl of warm water, gave it half an hour and then rinsed off (most of the sugar had dissolved so there wasn't anything but hair left). It was a sticky process being my first time and while I panicked at first when I dropped dollops of the paste on the floor I was relieved it came off the carpet and hardwood floor with just a warm washcloth! Same in regards to rinsing my hands and legs off afterwards. The only thing I found annoying was having to microwave the product multiple times throughout my removal to keep it spreadable (lasts about 8 minutes I think before adding to the microwave for another 10 sec). Not a big deal. Love it comes in a reusable/recyclable glass jar too! 4HAIR BE GONE!For over 35 years I have tried every means to remove unsightly facial hair that I heard about. About 12 years ago I heard from a cosmetology student about sugaring. She was headed to a convention and this form of hair removal was one of the topics. She informed at the time that some "high end" salons/spas used the method. I should have but didn't follow through, over the years, kinda forgot, until 4 months ago. Now, for me, it's the only way to remove hair. I originally purchased a travel size. It arrived promptly. After washing and drying my face I placed the closed container of sugar mixture in HOT water and prepared reusable cloth strips and wooden stick near the sink. I removed the sugar container from the hot water. Remember, all you need for clean up is a cloth and hot water. Using the stick I scooped a bit of the sugar mixture, applied a thin, very thin, layer on the area where 1/4-1/2" hair was waiting to be removed. I used a dry finger to spread a little more evenly. The cloth strip was then applied. I had applied the sugar in the direction my hair grew so I lightly rubbed the strip in the opposite direction. Truthfully, since that initial removal, 75% successful, I rub the strip in every direction, finishing when I see hair through the strip and swiping against the growth. This takes seconds. Holding the skin taunt I quickly pull the strip against the growth. I then use a wet warm cloth to gently wipe away excess, if any. That's it. I move on to another area then return to the original spot later, if necessary. I'd advise you not to expect perfection, the 1st time. Also, hair grows at different times and speed, so initially you may need to do this a few days in a row. After that, depending on you, enjoy the break from hair removal for 2-6 weeks. My hair has grown back softer, finer and more sparsely.4Wasn't For Me, Doesn't Grab the Finer Hairs I was looking for an organic hair removal wax and stumbled on Moom.I had bought Gigi's Microwavable Wax before (the pink, opaque one) and I really didn't want to go back to it since it get's so messy and is hard to clean. It's also very harsh and I ripped my skin off a few times before. From the reviews it seemed very gentle, easy to use, and easy to clean. Aside from the negative reviews, I thought I had a chance of it working for me. The price was good, the packing is well designed, seemed like a good match! When I received the package, I couldn't wait to use it. One of the first problems I ran into was that it delivered on a cold day. I immediately opened the package and the top film that you are supposed to remove was stuck to the wax when I removed the cover. It was so difficult to remove the top protective film that I had to pick it off, all the while getting my fingers stuck in the wax. I wasted a good portion of the product already. That was my mistake, I should have waited for the wax to settle to room temperature. Anyways I followed the instructions very carefully and heated it for about 10 seconds. I had to heat it a bit more to have the temperature from outside go down. I applied a very thin layer and apply the wax strip to the area between my eyebrows. It didn't work for me at all, there were thick and thin hairs in between my eyebrows but it didn't pull any of them! The wax was gentle pulling off and it was very easy to clean, but I don't think this was the wax for me. I really wanted to like you Moom! Unfortunately I missed the cutoff to return this product. 1All-natural skin-friendly hair removal I bought this product after noticing the hair on my upper lip starting to darken. I was hesitant about bleaching (then I'd have a blonde mustache) and am wary of salon waxing (expensive, painful, and I've gotten fungal infections from manis/pedis). I'm always looking for ways to avoid chemicals, so this product immediately caught my attention.I washed and dried my face and used as directed on my upper lip area. The directions say to not warm the sugar wax for facial use, so I didn't. I found it somewhat hard and goopy and a challenge to spread. Since I was only doing my upper lip, and some eyebrow areas (all small) I didn't really mind.I patted on the cloth strip as instructed and peeled it off. It definitely hurt me less than paraffin wax, but I still felt it. However I noticed IMMEDIATELY how much better my skin was after this treatment when compared to a paraffin waxing. When I've had my eyebrows waxed, they are ANGRY red initially, and then stay pink and swollen for about 24 hours. As soon as I peeled off the strip, my skin was pink. Less than 10 hours later - absolutely back to normal.Clean up was easy....I used hot water to get the sugar wax off of the stick and the cloths, and warm water (no soap) to rinse my face. Followed with all-natural gentle moisturizer and I was good. The next day, my skin is normal...not red or swollen or oily as it normally is after paraffin wax.As for the hair removal, it didn't get 100%. But I can't be sure if that was the product or my technique. But I can tell you that based on the product, the price, and my experience, I'll definitely be using this in the future! 4Stop wasting money at the salon!I've bought this item a few times, but finally got around to reviewing it. I used to drive 35 minutes into the city to go to a decent salon to have my bikini line waxed for around $50. It was time consuming and annoying (and somewhat embarrassing), so I finally decided, based on the great reviews on Amazon, that I would do it myself. Now I rarely ever go to the salon - except maybe for an eyebrow shaping once a year. Otherwise, I've just started waxing my own bikini and eyebrows. Not only is it not painful, unlike the salon, but it is so fast and easy! It's such a waste of money to go to the salon. This product is awesome. I highly recommend it. I also love the Moom strips, but they don't seem to sell them separately. So if I run out of the strips, I just go to Ulta/Sally and buy whatever they have.If you are hesitant, like I was, start with the travel size. Then graduate to the big size once you realize how awesome it is! Happy Waxing!5Removed hair, but skin broke out really bad I ordered this product for my facial hair - specifically for some hair on my upper lip and near my chin. I had never used any time of depillatory product in the past, but after reading up on different options I thought I'd try "sugaring," and use the Moon product. I liked that it didn't contain harsh chemicals etc. Unfortunately after I removed my hair (which worked well once the product reached the proper consistency - follow the directions and do not try to use when it's runny) I broke out with white heads. Basically every hair follicle that was pulled became infected and I had painful zits all over that area. Much more unsightly and uncomfortable than a few blond mustache hairs!!! I'm going to try again in a couple of months and do a really thorough cleaning and application of astringent directly following the hair removal step and see if that will help heal. I'll update the review after I do this regimen and let people know if it worked any better. But at this point, unless you have experience with sugaring products or waxing and you know you won't break out, I wouldn't recommend this product. 3Impeccable Between the reviews for the lavender and tea tree Moom there are at least 100 tutorials on how to use the product. So I'm going to focus on what was not covered.Moom exceed my expectations. I waxed both legs (knee down), underarms and bikini line less than an hour and still have 1/3 of Moom left. I am no stranger to waxing and have always recommended it. But Moom offers an affordable and sustainable option for use at home. If you have never waxed before I strongly urge you to go get it done professionally the first time. Like me, you are probably just looking for a cheap solution to hair-free legs, but the first time hurts the most and hair is at its thickest after countless times of shaving. Unlike what some people have said the fabric strips are average size and the perfect size for a firm pull. Careful when heating the product, as it is sugar and it reaches temperatures well beyond boiling water. If you can pick up the jar and its warm its likely to be at the right consistency. If the jar burns your hand do not even try testing it. I have an average thickness of hair and Moom worked just like wax, removing all hairs from the root. Strangely enough it was less painful, but it still stung. I still get red pores afterwards, just like after waxing. This stuff smells amazing. Its like fanning lavender air freshner in your face. Easy clean up for everything, but the strips dry crinkled. Nothing an iron can't fix in 2 seconds. Previous reviews say you could even lick off any excess Moom, and I'm sure you can, but since you will most likely be so pleased with the ease of use and will eventually take Moom to your lady parts, let's just stick to washing away messes with warm water. Packaging is small enough to take on vacations. Other reviewers stated that you can even cook your own Moom and although I will experiment with that once I finish my jar, I still recommend buying the kit. The wooden applicators and fabric strips can be used multiple times and honestly, who doesn't love a product that is earth, skin and wallet friendly? 5Perfect for first-timers!First time sugar waxer here :) I couldn't have been more satisfied and excited! The kit has everything a beginner needs - I especially like the reusable strips. First, I tried it on my upper lip, and it worked great, caused much less pain than an epilator or pre-waxed strips, no pimple-looking consequences either. After that, I waxed my underarms - I was a little bit traumatized by the process, but the outcome was great. Oh, and it worked very well on my boyfriend's back, too. Its organic ingredients are also a plus. I will keep on buying Moom's products - even by the looks of its packaging and the instructions that came with the product, I can tell that people at Moom care about their customers. I also wish I started Moom'ing years ago. :)(P.S. To be honest, I was going to buy a similar kit from cocojojo first, since its products had the highest ratings, but when I noticed fake reviews under that brand's products (five-star reviews with the same text posted by different accounts), I changed my mind (scamming brands? no, thank you))5Love It! I bought this one night when I was thinking about going to have my eye brows waxed. I am on a budget and really couldn't afford the 15.00 for one eye brow waxing, so while wandering around on Amazon I found Moom. It is an extremely generous container, if you are just using it for brow waxing. You can place it in the microwave for about 30 seconds to get a slightly warm and honey like consistency, and apply in a VERY thin layer. A little bit goes a really long ways. If you put too much on it is extremely messy, so you want to watch how much you apply. It is a lot easier to clean up than wax, you don't have to worry so much of where you place it, in worries that its going to harden, or be so gooey that you can't remove it with water. If you get this on skin, hair it shouldn't be on or clothing, all you need is a little bit of warm water and it will come right off. It also comes out of clothes in the wash and doesn't get on anything else that you are washing them with. This set comes with 3 sticks to apply the Moom, one large tongue depressor type of stick and then two smaller sticks that are perfect for your brows. It comes with plenty of waxing strips both large for your legs and other areas and small for facial waxing. You can also wash off the strips with some warm water, lay the flat to dry and re-use them. You never have to worry about buying more strips which I found fantastic.I don't feel that Moom is as painful as waxing and it didn't irritate my skin as much as waxing. I have found my new hair removal item! and I won't be going back to traditional waxing. 5Yeti Approved!Moom is an amazing product! It goes on quite smoothly if you're quick from the jar to leg/desired location. I'd get a few minutes at a time before needing to reheat the jar in the microwave.I've got thick, dark hair that even a Yeti would envy and Moom removed it with ease. The first time was a little painful, but the subsequent times, many hairs just slid right out. I was also pleasantly surprised that I got 4-6 full uses out of the one jar because a thin spread is all you need on each leg. It's been a few months since I've run out of Moom, and I have patches where there is little to no hair growth. I'll definitely be buying a refill. I only wish that they had the refill in lavender instead of tea tree oil.5Does not work on bikini area I bought this wax specifically for my bikini area and it literally did nothing. I heated the wax by boiling at a low temp, then I tried putting under a warm faucet, then finally tried to microwave it (which I really didn't want to do) and it still seemed too cool to me. The instructions say to not let it get to be like hot wax but it didn't seem warm enough to do anything. I attempted to use this wax on 3 different occasions and the only way I got it to work at all was when I tried it on tiny areas at a time, but even then there were still too many hairs left in the area. It seems this was if only for very fine hairs (e.g. eyebrows, leg/arm hair, and maybe armpits) but I have no use for this reason.Giving 3 stars because although it didn't work for the reason I bought it, I'm sure it's work on other areas of the body. 3It works Follow the directions. Pay attention to avoid burns and this will work as described. You're ripping hairs out at the root. A. This will likely be painful in some areas. B. It may even bleed a little. C. There will be a mess to clean up.Take care of your skin. I found a weak tea of calendula and chamomile blossoms worked nicely. I let it cool to lukewarm temp and wiped the depilitated areas with it after rinsing the sticky sugars off the skin. I don't rinse it. Probably if you have allergies to rag weed the chamomile might not be ideal. Not sure about calendula though. To clean the strips, I fill the sink with HOT water and let them sit a minute to soften the sugar, then I find I can rinse the hairs right off. I've been using this a while now and I've never had any problems with the hairs sticking to the strips. I've reused them many times. The sugar with the hairs rises right off. It's not fun, but it costs far less than going to the esthetician when money is tight AND it increased my appreciation for the service provided by the professionals also! 5I LOVE LOVE this product As an old hair dresser I wish I would have known about this product . If you follow the directions You will have a painless removal no sticky reside because this washes off with water, the pads come clean when washed and dry fast. With the waxes I used to use I would have never done my under arms with this is was a breeze, Taking notice of the hair growth is VERY IMPORTANT or you will be wasting your time applying and ripping off. I have found that under arm hair may have some different direction of growth. As do my underarm hair. So I applied in one direction the ripped in opposite direction some hair was left so I applied again in the opposite direct as at first and a clean and sticky free under arm because water washes off the left on wax. Be careful about heating in the micro follow directions because if it is too hot it will burn and not work. I LOVE LOVE this product. 5Overall a great starter kitThis wax is very good for beginners. I've just recently started waxing and this stuff is so easy to work with. It also doesn't hurt as much as you might think. The wax does last a while if you're only doing small areas (aka not legs) but overall a great starter kit! The instructions are easy to use and I haven't had a problem with it being too hot/cold. I would/have reccommend to my friends to get this product.4Completely amazed!! I normally wax at a wax center or shave, i have never tryed a self wax befor because i was too scared it would hurt or doesnt work.i have ultra sensitive skin so i have to do alot of research befor i put anything on my skin, if not i break out for weeks! I am completely amazed and very impressed with this product! 1. The instructions are easy. 2. It doesnt hurt! 3.clean up is a breeze! And the best part no break out!! I'm hooked and will not have to shave or go for a wax. 5
