Customer Reviews

Spouse Toe AidsM wife has been using these toe straighteners for years. They are recommended by her foot doctor.5Easy to use.Keep toe straight.5No structural backing to straighten or immobilize. A great concept. It binds the toe to the base well. But if you need immobilization to straighten a toe as this product should be capable of providing them you're going to be dissatisfied and underserved. The base is essentially the equivalent of two layers of moleskin.Look elsewhere. I'm looking for a refund as I bought this one and the two toe model. Both are useless. 1Brilliant design but platform not built stiff enough to work - a simple modification however fixes it completely. Of all the toe-straightening devices this one is the superior design. It can be worn inside a shoe and it can be 100% effective in straightening a FLEXIBLE hammer toe when slightly modified. The problem is with the flat platform part -- it's way too soft. When you tighten the loop enough to straighten the toe, after walking around for a short time, the platform material will pucker and rise beneath the toe, allowing the toe to bend and completely negating the straightening effect. I cut a piece of semi-soft plastic from the side of a 64 oz bottle of drinking water -- not the crystal clear bottle but the more flexible translucent type -- and, using the toe straightener as a template, cut it to match the platform of the toe straightener. Then, using the plastic as a template, I cut a piece of self-adhesive moleskin to match and applied it to the plastic. Finally, using a box cutter (or any razor cutter or Exacto knife) I cut a small rectangle angle out of the moleskin/plastic platform just large enough for the toe loop to fit through. Now, placing the platform I made between the foot and the toe straightener, and pulling the loop through the rectangular hole, I have the perfectly functional toe straightener. Pedifix is a good company; let's hope they discover this defect and start producing these with a stiffer platform, "ready to use" 4Works greatI didn't realize my toe was becoming crooked until the podiatrist said so, he recommended the toe straightener and just like that, toe is better. I didn't know you could buy a toe straightener. It worked and continues to do the trick.5Works well when used correctly Works well and is comfortable inside my shoe. The thing with these is to not OVER tighten them - gentle pressure will allow long term wear and that is what is needed (gentle correction over a long period). 5Very good product for hammer toe I have ordered 3 of these. My hammer toe was beginning to develop after a foot surgery for a bunion. Wearing this product stretches out the toe, and greatly reduces/eliminates the pain from walking. I also believe it has slowed the development of my hammer toe, although I will still likely need surgery in the future. They do wear out after a while, and when new can cause the circulation in your toe to be cut off, particularly when you are not walking. To avoid having to take off my shoe and sock at work, I use it in the evenings, and my toe is sufficiently stretched for the following day at work. If you have a hammer toe then try this product, for the price it is worth a shot. I cannot speak to how effective it would be for someone who has an extremely bad hammertoe that is fully developed, but for my mild to moderate one it has made it possible to walk without pain. When combined with the affordable price there is no question that the product should receive 5 stars based on my experience. 5My feet don't look perfect, but they look good enough to show off ... I thought this would fail me but toe-siree! I've suffered with hammer toes all my life, thinking I needed surgery. My second toes seem long in comparison to the little ones, they are double jointed and curl downward. I could never wear sandals. While only surgery could make them shorter, this made them completely straight. My feet don't look perfect, but they look good enough to show off and that exceeded my expectations. After a few days they stay straight for hours after you take it off but like with any brace they will go back to normal so I will be wearing them for months. But that's no big deal because I forget I have them on. They are uncomfortable with shoes on so I took off a star. It definitely depends on your situation but it's worth a shot. 5A bit wide for some shoesIt does hold down the bad toe, but the underside that fits the front part of the foot is too wide to get into some of my shoes. I don't use it a lot, but maybe should try again.3Warning - buying 4, 5, and 12 pack is more expensive than buying single item! Just a warning - if you buy one, it's $5.97. If you buy a 4 pack, they charge you $25.52, but 4 x 5.97 = $23.88! The 5 pack is 14 cents more expensive than buying singly, and they charge $77.84 for the 12 pack, but 12 x 5.97 is $71.64!!! So buying more than one is a rip-off!!!! 1Not for me. Made my toe more crooked. If there was an option to pull the strap the opposite direction it might have worked...but who knows. The large pad was kind of clumsy for a woman s size 8. Maybe better for a big man foot and toe. Product seems quality made overall but there was no mechanism to adhere the strap. It needed an additional fastener or Velcro or something similar 3Good helpful product inferior packagingI need this product for a misshapen toe, and it works well but the last set of two came with the cellophane packaging slit open at the top, and the product exposed. Creepy2OKIt works but after awhile it s annoying.4Effective and comfortableThis pad was comfortable and simple to use. It kept my toe in place as it healed. I first got this from my podiatrist. I bought this to have an extra on hand so I could wash them by hand in between uses. This pad is very durable and easy to clean as well.5Hammer Toe Maintenance.Love these.....work well for my hammer toe!!!!!5Big helpThis product really helped. Looking at them at first, I wondered, how is this thing going to help at all. Well, to my surprise, it made all the difference in the world. ..Highly recommend5Does this really work? it slides forward...doesn't stay put! this was recommended for me by my orthopedic doc, whom I went to see due to foot pain which she said was capsilitis... the pads should work, but... they slip forward and the elastic band ends holding the tip of the toe, so that the metatarsal it is supposed to hold down crunches up anyway... because it is not visible in the shoe/socks, I am not convinced that it works as designed. I think... if the pad were a little bit longer forward, then it would not slide forward (it would hit the front of the shoe and stop), and thus work better. The idea seems good, it is quite comfortable yes, so you do get 3 stars... 3Costly but good product This price is for ONE. The Vive brand is $10.49 for a PAIR. That said, this Budin does seem to be a superior product. The elastic covers just a bit more of the toe and the pad under the foot is much softer and not as stiff. On the other hand ( or foot), it doesn t allow me to tighten the elastic quite as much as I d like. For this reason and the very high price, I m giving it 4, not 5 stars. 4Wonderful! Love them. After seeing 6 foot doctors without relief, I discovered these toe straighteners on my own. I can walk almost pain free now. I am so glad I finally found something to give me some relief. They can be machine washed without falling apart. The downside: They wear out fast with daily use. Buy several at a time. I am limited to the types of shoes I can wear, but it is a small price for the comfort they give me. 5It works great! It works great! I know when I walk in park that I should have put it on.5
