    A Must Have Hair Styling Tool! I used to hold my hair with one hand while trying to straighten or curl other sections, or use hair ties, or other types of barrettes. I really love these high-quality hair clips. They come in a beautiful box, which I still use to hold them when I m not using them. They have teeth so the hair doesn t slip out yet they don t leave those dreadful dents or marks in your hair. 12 pieces is very generous. I ve never had to use more than 5 at a time, so it s like having several backup clips in case one breaks. But, the quality is so good, I would think you d have to be pretty rough or step on top of them for them to break. I feel like it s a must have even if you only occasionally style your hair. 5Seriously Strong Clips! I'm not quite sure how I've lived without these, honestly, and I use them for everything! I use these when I style my hair, I use these in the shower to put up my daughter's really long hair if I'm deep conditioning it, I use these when I want to wash my face at night... Seriously awesome clips! My very fine hair doesn't slip out, and the clips don't slide all over the place or fall down (a problem with many other clips I've owned). I always wondered why the clips at the salon seemed to hold my hair so well, and I finally figured out that it was because they don't use clips that are crappy! These aren't crappy either!! Definitely a good purchase :) 5Wasted money I ordered these on June 17, 2017. When I first bought them I liked them because they had a great grip. But after a few uses I realized they broke easily. They would break just by opening the mouth of the clip.They came in two packs of 6, and after a few in the first pack broke I switched to the second pack. I contacted the seller or Amazon and they replaced them with a new pack. The same thing happened with the replacements. They barely lasted a couple of months. I'm down to the last one which has already cracked. And I have to buy a different set. 1Pinup Clips that don't leave lines in my hair These Pinup Clips are FANTASTIC! I have a TON of super thick hair so it's always been a pain to try to straighten it because it's hard to keep the top layers out of the way of the bottom layers. It never occurred to me to use the clips my hairdresser does when she is cutting/thinning/coloring my hair until she suggested it. I liked that this came as a 12-pack because I have 3 small children who tend to get into (and lose or break) things in my bathroom. I haven't had any trouble with pulling hair or any trouble with getting them to hold all of the hair I need out of the way. I especially love that they don't leave "hair tie lines" when I'm trying to straighten this mess. I am extremely satisfied with this product and if my kids manage to wander off with these clips, I will definitely replace them with the same brand! 5These are great. I have super thick These are great. I have super thick, longer than shoulder length, curly hair that I style and curl about 3/7 days out of the week. One of these clips holds my entire head of hair out of my face when I'm using a face mask (see picture!) And they also work great to section my hair while I curl it, without crimping it! I was previously using just silver basic clips, and I thought those worked pretty well until trying these out! The package comes with 12, which is great, because I'm constantly misplacing these types of things! Definitely worth the money! 5Perfect if you have thinner hair These things are great! Until they break. I have thicker 4B/4C hair I style and spoil often with conditioners, hair oils, etc so I use these constantly when sectioning my hair. However, the oil weakens the plastic (which already isn t amazing but decent) so randomly the ends you old them by will snap off exposing the wire under it. Luckily I have not been hurt by it but I m not going to keep using them for the chance to be hurt by them.This didn t happen right off the bat. I bought them several months ago and this has happened to five of them within now 3 weeks of writing this review (I wash my hair twice a week).I say they re good if you have thinner hair because the amount of conditioning and styling products aren t used as heavily and might not break down the plastic. It s only my conclusions that that s what these are doing because none of them broke on first or even second use. 2Super sturdy clips that work! My daughter is a dancer and always needs her hair done up. She has super thick hair and getting any kind of pin up clips to stay in her hair while we work with it has always been a challenge, as they always seem to pop out or they break because the hair is too thick. But these work! Something about the "alligator" design of these clips really works great for her hair, and we haven't broken one yet! On the flip side, I never used to use pin up clips when working with my hair because I have the opposite problem, super fine and not as much hair, so clips never hold in my hair at all either, they just slide right out. But these work for me too! Again, something about the alligator teeth on these clips does the trick and now I'm addicted to using these when working with my hair - makes the job so much easier! There were enough clips in the box that my daughter and I split them and each took 6. 5fine hair that doesn't like to stay in barrettes or ... Exactly what I needed to style my hair getting the top layers out of the way so I can curl or straighten the bottom half. I have long, fine hair that doesn't like to stay in barrettes or clips. These hold onto my hair really, really well. Wish I'd bought these years ago. Shipped fast, and the product packaging was so nice, I kept the box they came in to store them in my drawer. Worth every penny. 5Will eventually break I brought this product in July 2017. Everything was fine with the clips. I loved the fact that it held a lot of hair and didn t slip around.However, does that matter if the clips have a tendency to break? I started out with 12 and today I have 7. I know I will eventually have to get more clips (not this brand) because what I have left will break too.Also, I m now skeptical of this brand and Amazon. This products breaks easily but has rave reviews. 1Not non-slip as advertised! If you have coarse hair, you can probably ignore this review. I have loosely curly but smooth, fine hair, so I needed some good non-slip alligator clips for my hair. These Xtava clips are made of hard, shiny smooth plastic, and they do not stay in place in my hair at all. The clip I was actually looking for (and later bought) was the Colortrak Non Slip Croc Clips, which are made of a matte coated plastic that gives it a genuine non-slip surface. The upper jaw of the ColorTrak has a double hinge which holds my hair better (Xtava does not), and the lower jaw has larger teeth for gripping power (Xtava is practically smooth by comparison), all in addition to the better non-slip surface (compared to Xtava). Worst of all for these Xtava clips, there is a No Returns policy, so I am stuck with these useless clips. I found the better ones at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076JK7F34?pf_rd_p=c2945051-950f-485c-b4df-15aac5223b10&pf_rd_r=1QHEZ15BWYEXMFHQ3FPA. Yes, Colortrak clips are more expensive, but they work as intended. These clips do not, at least for me. 1
